Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 Small onion (thinly sliced)
- 1 Batch Fresh pizza dough (your favorite recipe or purchased from the store)
- 2 Tablespoons yellow mustard
- 1/4 Cup plus 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1/2 Pound ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (or more to taste)
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 4 Ounces cheddar cheese (grated)
- 3-4 Slices bacon (cooked and crumbled)
- 2-3 pickle spears (chopped)
Directions
Step 1 | |
Preheat olive oil and butter in a 10-inch skillet over medium-low heat. Place the onions in the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until well-caramelized, 30-45 minutes.
Step 2 | |
While the onions are cooking, preheat the oven to 450 degrees (place a pizza stone in the oven if you have one). Combine the mustard and ketchup in a small bowl.
Step 3 | |
In a medium pan, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain away any fat then season with salt, onion powder, and garlic powder and stir in about half of the ketchup and mustard mixture. Remove from the heat.
Step 4 | |
On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough (I like to do this on a piece of parchment paper that can then be transferred to the oven). Spread the remaining ketchup/mustard mixture over the crust. Top with half the cheese, then the ground beef and onions, then the cheese and the crumbled bacon.
Step 5 | |
Bake the pizza on a pizza pan or the preheated stone for 10-12 minutes or until crust and cheese reach desired brownness. Remove from oven and top with the chopped pickles. Serve immediately. |
